Nevertheless enough chatty....on to what you guys are really here for....
This is Neist Point on the North-Northwest coast of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It is a really neat place. We climbed up on top of a ridge to get these photos of the lighthouse on the point. Unfortunately my photos don't really do it to much justice. It was exciting. We could have hiked down to the lighthouse if we wanted but Cherith said it really is quite a hike so we deferred.
These are a series of B&B's in the city of Portree on Skye that overlook the harbor. Portree is the largest city on the Isle and is only a couple thousand people. This view is just a couple steps away from the Bosville restaurant where Cherith worked after graduating from College.
This is Edinburgh castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. I couldn't think of a better place to put a castle. It was on the top of a mountain that had shear cliff faces on three sides. I don't know how anyone would tackle this one. The town of Edinburgh, although too busy for my tastes, wraps all the way around this castle.
Our last real day of touring was a bust....or well almost a bust. A&A, Cherith, and I drove up to see Kilchurn castle one of the more photogenic of castles in Scotland. However, there was hike out to the castle and it had been raining pretty hard all morning. Unfortunatley the ferry that takes passengers out to the end of the long peninsula where the castle is doesn't run in the winter. Andrew was the only one brave enough to venture down the trail in the downpour to get a single photo of the place.
On our drive back to Glasgow the rain finally broke....of course our luck. Anyway we were debating whether or not to turn around and head back to Kilchurn when we saw signs for Falloch Falls. After all the rain we'd been having we thought it'd be interesting so we made a stop. What we saw was the most powerful waterfall/river I've ever seen. All the water in the river was white because it was being tossed around so much. The volume of water moving downstream was incredible.
